The Mobile Wellness Centre was created to bring health and wellness care to the poor and uninsured in townships and informal settlements in Johannesburg. Our teams travel to multiple areas where access and transportation to health care are difficult. We are now in three different areas around the city.
We provide basic physicals and screenings (e.g.blood pressure, diabetes, mental health, TB), HIV testing, mental health counselling and wound care. We also provide education for self-care of chronic diseases (e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes, pain management), nutrition education, health promotion, tobacco cessation support, guidance to community resources, and referral to a doctor or clinic when needed. With every consultation, there is either a nurse or a volunteer to pray for each patient. It is an honour to serve these people whom God loves dearly.
